Meet the county staff
Carlene has worked for the past 25 years at Outreach–a Center for Community Resources–in Scranton. During that time, her eyes were opened to the plight of many children in Lackawanna County. She has experience working directly with families and in organizing legislative and community events
to advocate and raise awareness of the needs of children. Carlene values the strength and effectiveness of community organizing. She says that it is important to work together and think about the decisions we are making today and how they will impact the future of children.

Carlene is looking forward to the opportunity to work with Lackawanna Keystone Family Alliance. She says that one of her favorite bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11. She has no doubt that God’s plans brought her to the point she is at today. He has opened many doors that have moved her in the direction of helping vulnerable children and she looks forward to giving God the glory of diminishing the crisis in our foster care system.

In her personal life, she loves spending time with her three grown children and five grandchildren. She loves taking Utah adventures to visit them. She enjoys anything outdoors, hiking, biking, kayaking, or just sitting on the front porch in the morning with her beagle and a cup of coffee reflecting on a bible verse of the day.
