Meet the county staff

Junior high and high school sweethearts, Rachel and her husband Troy have been married for 28 years. They were blessed with three biological sons within their first 7 years of marriage, and then 16 years later welcomed a sweet girl through the gift of embryo adoption. Just recently they welcomed blessing
number five when their lively two year old foster son, who they had parented from 4 weeks old, became a permanent member of their family through adoption! One of their daughters in law recently referred to him as, "The rest of the story!"
Foster parents since June of 2022, Rachel and her husband quickly saw the need for foster/adoptive family support and GOD birthed a passion in their hearts to see churches educated and equipped, and families well supported for the journey. Rachel's parents served in full time christian ministry to children for the first 20+ years of their ministry career, and she often reflects on how her love of children and a commitment to serving them is a legacy given to her by her parents. Rachel and Troy and the non-adult members of their family enjoy rural life in Franklin county with lots of yard to run around in, fresh air, a garden of fresh produce in season, a beautiful back road through farm fields to explore, a dozen+ chickens, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and delightful view from the front porch. Home is definitely her happy place, but if she isn't there, you can probably find her in a coffee shop with a friend or thrift shopping.

Born and raised in Franklin County, Anna is passionate about serving the community she calls home. Be it through involvement in activities at her church and the local biblical education center, active participation in her children’s homeschool co-op and her foster agency, or just lending a hand to a neighbor in
need, you can count on Anna to show up with a smile and give her all.
Helping others isn’t the only thing that keeps Anna busy, though. At home, she is a devoted caretaker, whose top priority is creating an environment where her family members can grow and develop to their full potential. Anna and her husband, Roy, have eight children and have served as foster parents on a continual basis since 2012. Together, they enjoy encouraging and supporting others to serve in the foster parent role and make a positive difference in the life of children who can truly benefit from patience, compassion, understanding, and most importantly – love.
Highly motivated and often on the go, Anna is also a proud momaprenur. She carefully balances her family responsibilities with her business endeavors, serving as a licensed real estate agent and operating a small online retail business.
The Schweizer family resides in the rural outskirts of Waynesboro with their dog, cat, two cows, and a handful of chickens.
