daughter from New Mexico and have had her since birth. Their second daughter was adopted through Somerset CYS, and they have had her since she was two months old. Even though their daughters were raised in a loving, Christian home, they have still had deep emotional needs. Karen recently began doing research on trauma and learned about TBRI.  She thought if only she could have had this training 20 years ago, she would have done things so differently! Through various connections she began going to the trainings offered to parents online taught by Cindy King. When she found that Venango County needed a coordinator something began to stir within her heart.  This verse became so real in her life: "He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.  When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us."  2 Corinthians 1:4   Karen is especially passionate about providing resources and training for foster and adoptive parents, educators and caseworkers so they can know how to help children from hard places.
