The Monroe County Office of Children and Youth, under Pennsylvania law, is mandated to investigate all reports of suspected abuse, neglect, or dependency of children from birth to age 18 within the County. Program staff works closely with private social service agencies, school districts, the Drug & Alcohol Program, and the Carbon-Monroe-Pike Mental Health and Developmental Services, and law enforcement agencies. Additionally, their staff work with families directly and coordinate services with community resources to improve family conditions. In-home services, placement services, and adoption services are integral to the child protective service function.
