Beginnings, Inc. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Program

CASA provides trained volunteer advocates to become the eyes and ears of the judge and the voice for a child who is currently involved in the court system in Cambria and Somerset counties through no fault of their own. These are children that have typically experienced abuse or neglect.

Cambria County Children & Youth Services

The mission of the Children and Youth Services is to utilize existing resources in an effective and efficient manner in the identification, investigation and prevention of abuse and neglect of children in Cambria County. The agency believes the prevention of child abuse and neglect is a community responsibility and it is committed to provide services that are community-based and child and family-focused.

Children's Aid Society

Children's Aid Society provides professional services throughout central Pennsylvania through many different program areas including: Adoption & Foster Care, Child Care & Early Learning, Youth Mentoring, Family Support Services. Their mission is to “identify and provide services to improve the lives of children and their families.” They have been serving local families since 1890 and last year, their services helped 1,420 children and adults.

Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO)

The Christian Alliance for Orphans unites more than 200 respected organizations and 850+ church members. Our joint initiatives inspire and equip Christians to effectively live out the Bible’s call to care for orphans and vulnerable children.

Fostering Hope Cambria-Somerset

Fostering Hope provides free resources to foster families, kinship care families, pre- and post-adoptive families, biological families on safety plans with their local child welfare office, and young adults who have recently aged out.

Justice Works

Justice Works provides support for biological parents looking to reunify with their children, and also provides a variey of social and life skills classes and activities for youth who are aging out/have aged out of foster care.

Lifespan Family Services

We equip their foster families with valuable resources that help the child thrive. Our goal is to leave a lifelong impact on a child who needs a caring family, and we encourage and respect all foster families.

Pennsylvania State Resource Family Association

PSRFA advocates for all those who care about children and their families. We work supportively with foster, adoptive, and kinship families, and with local foster parent associations and agencies who care for the children they serve.
